Our School

Introducing Richard H. Dinkins Early College Magnet

We are thrilled about the upcoming school year and the new opportunities we will offer our scholars. Our school will undergo a name change and will be renamed Richard H. Dinkins Early College Middle Magnet School. This change is exciting both in name and significance.

Future-Ready Starts Here

Scholars have the opportunity to earn high school credits and benefit from the AVID curriculum, which fosters critical thinking, collaboration, and organizational skills. By blending academic rigor with real-world learning, we engage scholars in hands-on experiences that spark curiosity and build confidence. Scholars are encouraged to explore, ask questions, and connect what they are learning to the world around them.

In our innovation lab, scholars dive into the world of business and entrepreneurship, learning valuable skills that will serve them throughout their lives. Through partnerships with organizations like Junior Achievement, they gain practical knowledge and experiences that help them grow as leaders and innovators.

Carrying Greatness Forward

Richard H. Dinkins dedicated his life to justice, education, and the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to succeed. As a civil rights attorney and Tennessee Court of Appeals judge, he worked tirelessly to break down barriers and create pathways for equity. At our school, his legacy lives on each day—in classrooms where scholars are encouraged to ask questions, think critically, and stand up for what’s right. His life reminds us that leadership begins with courage, and that every scholar has the power to shape a better future for themselves and their community.
